Nestled in the middle of Holmdel lies Bell Works, a metro-hub where you can work, shop, explore + of course eat. Located in Bell Works you can find Bell Market, a food hall with foods that range from ramen to pizza.

There you will find Corbo + Sons, a restaurant bringing 'Italian craft to the heart of New Jersey'. I was delighted to be invited to Corbo + Sons for a tasting of their delicious pastas, pizzas + cozy classics. This place did not disappoint. From the service to the food, Corbo + Sons cooked us up a delicious meal + experience.

Since it was a scorching summer evening we decided to start with the refreshing Golden Beets Salad with arugula, ricotta, grapefruit + pistachio gremolata. The salad was a perfect starter. It was fresh, with the perfect amount of acidity from the grapefruit + texture from the pistachio gremolata. The best part - the ricotta from a local dairy farm Jersey Girl Cheese. It was light, creamy with just the right amount of salt, the best accompaniment to the golden beet.

Next up, Veal + Ricotta Meatballs. As an Italian-American they passed the meatball test - soft + velvety like meatballs should be. The portions did not disappointment either. As if the meatballs weren't enough, there was house-made sourdough bread to soak up the extra sauce.

Now the show stopper. Creste di Gallo, a braised Amish chicken ragu with english peas + mint. This is the summer bolognese. A delicious, light ragu that coated the handmade LoRe pasta beautifully. The pop of peas + hint of mint takes this dish to the next level. This is a MUST have.

The finale, Firehouse Pepperoni Pizza with salumeria biellese pepperoni + local honey. Delicious pepperoni drizzled with house-made honey, cheese + sauce which lay on top of crispy, flavorful dough.

Overall I really enjoyed the meal at Corbo + Sons. Not only was the food delicious, but they take great pride in their ingredients which are fresh, tasty + locally sourced.

If you have not visited Bell Works yet, I highly recommend it. It is a hidden gem right next door to the Bayshore in Holmdel. Take the drive, grab a to-go meal at Corbo + Sons, sit + enjoy your Italian feast outside on the beautiful patio. Mangia!
