Vacations don’t need to be miles away. We packed our bags + drove a few exits away from Exit 117 to Exit 98 to enjoy a mini one day getaway in Point Pleasant.
Our home for the night was Casa Del Mar. An absolutely adorable boutique motel on Ocean Avenue in the North End of Point Pleasant. The location was perfect. Right across the street from the North End Beach + the Jenks Inlet Bar with the Manasquan Inlet right next door.
We got into town before check in + headed straight for the beach. We spent the day soaking up the sun with our feet in the sand, palm trees in the background + a fresh squeeze in hand from the Jenks Inlet Bar. Palm trees + cold fruity cocktail = vacation.
Clouds started to roll in so we headed back to check into Casa Del Mar for the night. The room was decorated to beach chic perfection. It couldn’t be more perfect to unwind after a beach day + rest our head.
We wandered around the North End where the motel was located. We watched boats pass through the Manasquan Inlet, found a playground where Luna frolicked around + walked around the fishing docks. It is the quaint + quiet fishing area of Point Pleasant. I fell in love.
We walked along Chanel Drive to dinner at the Atlantic Offshore Fishery. I enjoyed a cup of lobster bisque + lobster roll. I was very excited to eat here after reading reviews, but to be honest it was a bit lackluster.
After dinner, we did what we came here to do. Take Luna to her favorite place, the boardwalk. We strolled the boardwalk + ended the night the only way we know how, with ice cream at Strollo’s Lighthouse conveniently located at the other corner of our motel.
We headed in for the night + slept like babies through tropical storm Elsa. As if Casa Del Mar couldn’t be more perfect, they have a coffee cafe on site. We enjoyed a complimentary small coffee in our chic room + checked out.
Right down the road we found this adorable little cafe called I’m a Local Cafe. We ended our stay eating a delicious breakfast just like a local.
We may have only stayed for a day + were a few exits away, but sometimes that is all you need for a vacay. I have visited Point Pleasant countless times but I feel there is still so much left to discover.
Our stay at Casa Del Mar allowed us to explore an area we don’t usually spend a lot of time in + we can’t wait to come back to explore some more!
