Fall Fun at the Bayshore + Beyond

It is official - Fall is here. It is a favorite season for a reason. Beautiful weather, all around coziness + so much to do! Here’s a few fun things to do this Fall at the Bayshore + Beyond:

Take a Hike + Hit the Trails

There are plenty of places to hike in Monmouth County. Whether it is the Henry Hudson Trail, Sandy Hook, Hartshorne Woods or beyond, Monmouth County is filled with plenty of hiking trails to explore this Fall. A Bayshore trail I love is the Henry Hudson Trail, especially during the Fall. The foliage is gorgeous as you bike, walk or run the trail through the Bayshore. You can hop off at any time to grab a bite to eat, have a drink + explore a Bayshore New Jersey town.

Sandy Hook is free the day after Labor Day till Memorial Day + open ALL year long. Not only can you enjoy the beach, but there are great trails, Sandy Hook lighthouse, bird watching + more.

Hartshorne Woods is up the hill next to Sandy Hook + is a great place to hike. You can head into the woods on the trails or stay on paved trails, which is perfect hike for children. Right next to Hartshorne Woods is Twin Lights Lighthouse, another great spot to check out with beautiful views.

Another great trail is Allaire State Park in Wall where you can explore the woods then come upon an art installation of dinosaurs! It is a bit tricky to find - this will help!

Farm Fun

Have a farm filled day by checking out Holmdel Park to visit farm animals, hike some trails + play in the parks. Head up the road to Oak Hill Farms where you can shop, grab a coffee + hang out with the alpacas, goats, donkeys + chickens. Do not leave without getting their amazing honey!

Apple + Pumpkin Picking

Fall cannot pass without apple + pumpkin picking. My favorite apple picking in Monmouth County is Eastmont Orchards. I have been going there to pick apples + pumpkins for as long as I can remember. The best part, it is down the road from Delicious Orchards where you can pick up apple cider donuts + the best freshly made peanut butter - a perfect pairing with the apples you just picked!

Flower Picking

A Fall must do New Jersey activity is Holland Ridge Farm. They have a breathtaking field of sunflowers to pick, food trucks, Instagramable selfies stations, petting zoo, + more. I fell in love with Holland Ridge when I went tulip picking in the Spring + now I go every Spring + Fall season!

Food, Drinks + Fire Pits

Enjoying a meal or a drink next to a cozy fire is what Fall is all about. There are great local spots to grab a meal or a drink with an amazing view + a warm fire pit like The Seafarer, The Proving Ground, The Sandbox at Seastreak all in Highlands, Half Moon in Keansburg + Bar Bella at Bell Works in Holmdel.

Let’s not forget the Shore is open all year round + deserves our love every season, especially in the Fall.

Fun Things to Do

There is no shortage of things to do in the Fall. Our sibling bazaars, the Asbury Park Bazaar + Long Branch Bazaars, are hosting their Fall Bazaar markets.

There are fun town events happening like a Be-Witch event in Keyport, Brew by the Bay happening in the Highlands + more.
